As a highly-ranked research university, Washington University provides excellent library, instructional technology, and other services and resources to facilitate teaching, research, and learning. With easy access to the city of Saint Louis, faculty and students can take advantage of cultural landmarks like the Saint Louis Art Museum and the Missouri History Museum. On the Danforth campus, the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum provides access to excellent art collections and hands-on educational opportunities, while the Kranzberg Art and Architecture Library and Visual Resources Center are dedicated to supporting faculty and students in their endeavors. To broaden the experience of our students, the Department of Art History and Archaeology sponsors an extensive lecture series, with an internationally-distinguished roster of speakers, as well as regular field-trips to art destinations such as Chicago and Philadelphia.
