PhD Candidate Lacy Murphy to Participate in the National Humanities Alliance Conference

The Center for the Humanities has selected PhD candidate Lacy Murphy to participate in the National Humanities Alliance annual conference and day of advocacy in D.C. The events will take place March 19-21. The Annual Meeting brings together faculty, administrators, and representatives from scholarly societies, museums, archives, and other humanities organizations to build their capacity to advocate for the humanities. Lacy looks forward to gainiing more familiarity with the current political discourse around publicly funded institutions (like at the Saint Louis Art Museum, where she is currently a fellow) and walk away with a clearer idea about the government’s current disposition toward the humanities as well.
