Prof. Childs was honored to be a Visiting Scholar at Trinity College, Cambridge University, England in February. While in residence there, she worked with Prof. Nicholas Thomas, Professor of Social Anthropology and Director of the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology at Cambridge. They are engaged in a study of the work of Bengt Danielsson (1921-1997), a Swedish anthropologist and writer who lived in Tahiti and who was very influential in shaping Euro-American studies of Paul Gauguin's career  in Polynesia.

Prof. Childs was also a speaker at a panel in the Research Forum at the Courtauld (London) on Feb. 9  to mark the publication of Prof. Thomas's new volume on Gauguin in Polynesia (Bloomsbury Press). The panel is recorded here.
