In September, Lindsay Sheedy (PhD, Dec. 2021) joined Purdue University’s John Martinson Honors College as Scholar Development Advisor for the National & International Scholarships Office. In this position, Lindsay will advise high-achieving first- and second-year Purdue students as they explore opportunities and resources that will help them become competitive candidates for national and international scholarships and other prestigious post-baccalaureate opportunities. This position is a natural extension of Lindsay’s time in the Department of Art History & Archaeology. In addition to earning the department’s and the university’s top teaching honors, Lindsay also held a two-year fellowship at The Writing Center, where she helped students from across the educational spectrum on all matter of writing tasks in addition to designing large-group workshops. She is also no stranger to prestigious grants and fellowships, having earned several over the course of her graduate work. These honors included the Mark S. Weil Dissertation Travel Award, the Walter Read Hovey Memorial Fund fellowship, and the American Academy in Rome’s 2020-2021 Samuel H. Kress / Donald & Maria Cox Rome Prize.
Lindsay looks forward to continuing to support the development of ambitious young scholars at another top-tier university in her home region of the Midwest. She will also continue to exercise her skills as an art historian through various means, including her podcast, Stuff about Things: An Art History Podcast, which recently surpassed 70,000 plays.
