Nicola Aravecchia, Assistant Professor of Art History and Archaeology, was a fellow in Byzantine Studies at Dunbarton Oaks in spring 2021. He participated in a Q + A on his research report, “Early Christianity in Egypt’s Western Desert: The Fourth-Century Church at Amheida,” which summarized archaeological evidence of early Christian culture in the remote reaches of Egypt’s Western Desert.
